MBA Math

In our continued commitment to student preparation and success, Virginia Tech has introduced the MBA Math program as part of the requirements for incoming admitted students prior to their arrival in August. MBA Math was created by Peter Regan, a faculty member from the Tuck MBA Program (Dartmouth), who was in charge of teaching the students a one week “crash course” or “boot camp” in MBA-related quantitative skills during orientation. After many successful completions of the course, Regan decided to create MBA Math and take the program worldwide. Now the same 40-hour course Regan taught during orientation week is available to you to take at your convenience from your home, office, or wherever you choose. The course covers 24 modular topics, each with its own quizzes and learning materials.  The following format is as follows for each module:

Newly admitted Virginia Tech MBA students will be provided with a promotional code after the program office receives your seat deposit. To receive the discount, enter the Promotional Code on the registration page, which you reach by clicking the Purchase link on the Admitted Student page, or directly by clicking here. The discounted price will appear during the payment process after you click the 'Proceed to Secure Checkout' link.

Once logged into the site, please navigate to the admitted student section for more information about the program and for purchase information. It is important to note that Virginia Tech is not responsible for the purchase of the MBA Math; that responsibility lies solely with the admitted student. Purchase price is $100 for admitted students, which is cheaper than the $149 price for any other buyer.  All newly admitted students are required to have MBA Math completed within one week before Orientation for the fall academic term.  Each student is required to achieve an average score of 80 on the post-quizzes across all modules of MBA math, as well as a minimum score of 70 on each individual post-quiz.

If you have any questions regarding MBA Math, including its requirements for completion or purchase information, please contact the MBA office.
