Tuition and Financial Aid

The Pamplin MBA program estimates the student's average costs for full academic year (2007-08) to be:

  • Tuition and fees:
    • State Resident: $9735
    • Non-VA Resident: $16,866
  • Estimated Living Expenses: $7200.00
  • Estimated Additional Expenses: $1000.00

Complete detail of tuition and fees can be found at the website for the University Bursar at http://www.bursar.vt.edu/. Full-time MBA students in the Pamplin MBA program may be considered for both merit-based and need-based financial aid. The university Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid administers need-based aid. Students should apply for financial aid by February 1st. Decisions about awarding financial aid are separate from admissions decisions and are generally made later than admissions decisions.

Each year the Virginia Tech MBA program extends a number of attractive financial aid packages to students admitted to our MBA program. Fellowship and Graduate Assistantships are awarded based on a candidate's academic and professional achievements. No separate application is required for consideration of financial aid awards (note: FAFSA must be completed for need-based consideration). Candidates are evaluated for these awards on the basis of information presented during the application process.

Fellowship awards range from $500 up to full tuition compensation. Scholarships in excess of full tuition and academic fees are not awarded.

10 hour graduate assistantships are valued at approximately $4,197 plus the wage amount of $6,381 per year for in-state students and approximately $6,961 plus the wage amount of $6,381 per year for out-of-state students.

Students who are awarded a Graduate Assistantship as part of their admissions offer will be assigned to a specific department during the summer months through an interview and mutual selection process.

The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid also administers a variety of student loan programs. Click on the link within for more details.
