General Management Concentration

Course Content and Application

The General Management Concentration is intended for the student who hopes to one day lead a company or division that is comprised of all the main business functions. By providing concentration electives drawing from courses in finance, management and marketing, the concentration ensures exposure to a broad cross-section of academic concepts while still being sufficiently flexible to allow students to explore particular topics of interest to them. The concentration also requires students to select an international elective, ensuring exposure to the global nature of business. General managers must develop cross-disciplinary capabilities in order to manage their organizations effectively, and this concentration places the student on the path to developing the necessary expertise to do so.
